Legolas is my favorite Lord of the Rings character, at least as far as fakeboyfriends go. Perhaps it was Orlando Bloom’s portrayal of him in the Peter Jackson versions of The Lord of the Rings that makes the character appealing to me? Although, I think my crush started when I read the books. But, it’s definitely not Orlando Bloom on his own. I don’t really have feelings for his character of Will Turner in The Pirates of the Caribbean movies. There is just something so appealing about a tall, thin guy with pointy ears who shoots a bow and arrow with great skill. Maybe it’s the long, blond hair? Or, maybe not, because Fabio has long, blond hair and I find him to be a bit repulsive. Then, again, I don’t really go for body builder types. It must be the calm assurance that Legolas has. He is always prepared, ready to do battle and never shirks from his duty–a reliable guy.

Other characters don’t really seem attractive to me. Hobbits are dumpy and furry–that’s not my type, either. Although, Elijah Wood is attractive and if I were going to fall for a Hobbit, it would be Frodo. Although, I think I am mostly attracted to Elijah’s eyes. Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn is a bit too stringy-haired for my taste. I think of him more as a brotherly type. And, Gandalf is certainly out of the question as he is much too old for me–at least for now. Maybe I’ll feel differently in 30 years time. For now, I will just enjoy my fantasies of being married to an elf.
